John 17. The Great Intercessory Prayer of Jesus. Just before Jesus was going to the cross, in verse 15 ‘My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one’. Jesus prayed that we would be protected from the devil whilst we are in the world. He is always praying for us and is concerned for our safety.
