Assemblies of God is totally committed to: “Give every man, woman and child the opportunity of understanding the gospel and to provide a church where they can grow in ministry for the glory of God.”
Our Statement of Faith is as follows:
- We believe the Bible comprising the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. We believe that it was uniquely, verbally and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and that it was written without error (inerrant) in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks. 11 Timothy 3:15-17. 11 Peter 1:21.
- We believe that there is one God, Creator and Sustainer of all things, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father. God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:4-6.
- We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal visible bodily return in power and glory. John 1:1-4; Matthew 1:23; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 & 4:15; Acts 1:11 & 2:22-24; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4.
- We believe in the fall of man, who was created pure and upright, but fell by voluntary transgression. Genesis 1:26-31 & 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21.
- We believe that, for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ and His redeeming blood results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit and that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. Titus 3:4-7; Luke 24:46-47; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; Acts 4:12.
- We practice two ordinances. We believe that all who have truly repented and believed in Christ as Lord and Saviour are commanded to be baptised by immersion in water. Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48 & 2:38-39. and should regularly participate in Breaking of Bread. Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 11:20-34.
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life. Galatians 5:16-18; Romans 8:9.
- We believe in the Baptism in (of) the Holy Spirit as an enduement of the believer with power for service, evidence of which can be the ability to speak with new tongues.
- We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of Christin the Church today. 1 Corinthians 12:4-11,28; Ephesians 4:7-16.
- We believe in holiness of life and conduct in obedience to the command of God 1 Peter 1:14-16; Heb 12:14; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; 1 John 2:6.
- We believe in Divine Healing
- We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment. Revelation 20:11-15; 1 Corinthians 15:51-57.
- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church. Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:12,27.
